At the end of 2022, the team of Bulagro Group organized the largest charity initiative in its history, aimed at children and youth deprived of parental care, as well as people with disabilities housed in social institutions.
At the heart of the campaign was a very special project for us - "Bulagro's Christmas Carol" - a wonderful piece of music by producer Petar Dundakov based on lyrics by Georgi Tenev. Apart from the idea of filling us with positive energy, this song also carries an important message - let's be better TOGETHER and help those of us who are disadvantaged to experience their magical holiday!
Bulagro gave everyone the opportunity to buy a flash drive with an audio and video recording of the Christmas carol against a donation according to their means. Over 130 of our customers and partners joined the campaign in less than a month, and the amount we managed to collect is BGN 22,724.
The first initiative we supported was the organization of Christmas celebrations for children deprived of parental care, as well as for youth and adults with disabilities placed in social institutions across the country. The homes included in the initiative were in Mezdra, Gorski Senovets, Debelets, Blagoevgrad, Borovan and G. Genovo. Plenty of surprises for the little ones were organized: delicious treats, fun games with animators and of course - many gifts presented to them by Santa Claus himself!
In order for all these wonderful celebrations to happen, the team of National Fund "St. Nicholas", headed by Mrs. Nedka Mladenova, who are people with huge hearts, worked long and tirelessly - we sincerely thank them!
With the remainder of the collected funds, we decided to help one of the most needy social institutions in the country to improve the living conditions and provide a suitable environment for raising the children, youth and elderly housed in it. We chose KSUDLU (Complex of Social Services for Children and Persons with Disabilities) in Mezdra. It consists of six services - two family-type centers for children with disabilities, one center for children without disabilities, two sheltered housings and a transitional housing. The total number of users in the service is 56 children and persons aged 7 to 50 years. The director, Ms. Kamelia Kamenova, appealed to us for help in renovating the material base, as the funds granted to them by the state barely cover their basic needs for food, heating, overheads and staff salaries.
After an inspection carried out by our colleagues on site, it was found that the condition of the furniture and some of the rooms in the buildings of the complex was endeed truly deplorable. A list of the necessary materials was drawn up, and at the beginning of the summer the project to repair and replace old furniture and equipment began. You can see a complete list of the activities carried out HERE.
An extremely exciting event for all residents of the complex in Mezdra was the long-awaited summer camp in Ravda, which took place at the beginning of July, again thanks to the support of all our donations. Since the funds were not enough, we got involved by covering the costs of renting a bus and transport, in the amount of BGN 2,042.
With the rest of the gathered donations we decided to support the social institution for children deprived of parental care in Stara Zagora. We bought them eight new mattresses, an air conditioner and a TV for the amount of BGN 3021.
The sparkle in the innocent eyes and the smiles on their faces is the greatest reward for the good that we all TOGETHER managed to create!
To give a chance for a decent life, to give a smile, to lend a hand when someone needs support, to inspire courage when someone is disheartened - this is truly sublime!
Thank you to everyone who responded to our call and opened their hearts to our cause!
